Bicycling

Take an active or leisurely tour of Milledgeville by bicycle. On two wheels, visitors will be able to meander the historic district, zip to the Greenway and catch a tour at the Governor’s Mansion all in an afternoon.  Milledgeville’s downtown offers over 8 blocks of architecture, retail, restaurants, recreation and history to be explored.

Named a bicycle friendly community in 2014, self-guided bike touring in Milledgeville provides an experience unlike a windshield tour or even a walk. Bicycling allows the visitor to roll through at their speed and spend time at the attractions of their interest. Bike racks are available throughout the downtown, making it easy to park for a coffee break, take a selfie with an 1800’s home or even smell the flowers.

Interested in pedal pushing on your trip, we have you covered. The Antebellum Inn has bikes for guests to use or Oconee Outfitters will rent you just what you need or repair the one your brought from home.

The Bicycle Club of Milledgeville offers weekly rides as well as seasonal events, news, and advocacy of cycling in the area.
