At downtown Milledgeville’s awesome Mexican restaurant, they suggest ordering the Lime and Avocado Shrimp Salad or the Southern Gentleman. “The salad has a ton of different flavors, like corn salsa, avocado, shrimp, and jalapeño ranch. The Southern Gentleman has home-made pimento cheese, home-made collard greens from Aubri Lanes, and a fried chicken tender with bacon on top. It is one of the best selling items.”

This unique Grille is home to delicious burgers, wings, and drinks. But what is the real employee favorite? The Blackened Shrimp Tacos. “It has the perfect arrangement of toppings that is completed with yummy cilantro sour cream, and the blackened seasoning adds a little kick.”

The Brick Pizza

The Brick

With its famous light-up sign that has made it a local restaurant celebrity, The Brick offers amazing food that has been included in the “Top 100 Plates that Locals Love.” The best dish, according to the people who eat there the most is the Buffalo Brick Chick sandwich, and the California BLT pizza. “The Buffalo Brick Chick comes on a flatbread with blue cheese, but I always substitute it for ranch.”

Local Yolkal

Milledgeville’s go-to breakfast and lunch destination has amazing dishes that will make your mouth water. With a full brunch menu, Local Yolkal is like no other. The chosen dish is the French Toast plate with a choice of grits, hash browns, bacon, or sausage. “The French toast is made from scratch here with Texas Toast. It is so good, and we also have bottomless mimosas to go with it every day of the week.”

Buffington’s

Buffington

With its eccentric decorations, and amazing bands, Buffington’s is an awesome restaurant to try new things. They have delicious specials each week, but a favorite from the employees is the Chicken Philly with the garlic teriyaki sauce. “It’s not on the menu (not shown in the photo either), but it is my favorite. I always order the sweet potato fries on the side for a more sweet and savory option.”

Kuroshima

This Milledgeville gem is a great place to get delicious Hibachi-style food. They have a sushi bar with specialty rolls, with a lovely atmosphere in their dining room. What do the waiters suggest? The Bento Box that comes with fried rice, veggies, dumplings, and the California roll. “I love this dish because it is like a sampler platter of our best items. I love our fried rice so much, and you really get so many different things with the Bento Box.”

Amici Gar Chee Mar

For an Italian twist on your favorite foods like pizza and wings, Amici is a great place to wind down after a long week. With their full bar, and amazing appetizers, Amici has several customer favorites. The best dish, from the expert’s opinion, is the Buffalo Chicken GarCheMar. “The GarCheMar is only made at Amici, and we take chicken tenders, dip them in our home-made wing sauce, add buffalo sauce, and put it on our famous garlic break with cheese.”

Metropolis

Metropolis is Milledgeville’s one-stop shop for an authentic Mediterranean food experience. They are known for their amazing hummus, and even their hookah. The owner’s favorite is the Chicken Kabob or the Greek Burger. “These dishes are made with traditional Greek Herbs, and the burger is made with grass-fed beef, feta cheese, and euro meat on top.”

Asian Bistro

With a blend of Japanese style cuisine, and other Asian inspired dishes. With its newly renovated sushi bar, Asian Bistro is the perfect place to get great sushi and great service. The waiter’s favorite item on the menu is the Crispy Salmon. “It comes with creamy mango sauce that has real pieces of mango in it. It really compliments the flavor of the salmon.”

Georgia Bob

Milledgeville wouldn’t be a true southern town without a great barbeque place! Georgia Bob’s has great classic barbeque, but the employee favorite is the Chicken Salad Plate. “It’s really special because it is hand-made here. It is just really good ‘ol southern cooking, and it comes with two sides. My favorites are the potato salad and the mac-and-cheese.”
