During National Travel & Tourism Week, we want to take a moment to celebrate the hospitality heroes that make our destination #OneInAMilly. Those pausing in the midst of their own uncertainty to bring support and encouragement to others.

You’ve shown us that the spirit of travel and our passion for people and place cannot be broken. As we await the time to be right to once again welcome visitors into our community, we’ve been inspired by the dedication to our destination and the attitude of service we’ve witnessed from you. We’re proud to call you our own.

The Club at Lake Sinclair

Swapping their views of stunning golf course greens to mixing up tasty salad greens, the staff of The Club at Lake Sinclair and Aubri Lane’s have been showering local gratitude onto frontline medical staff. They’ve cooked up and coordinated regular meals, cookies and goodie bags for 70+ staff members at Navicent Health Baldwin. They haven’t stopped there. The Club at Lake Sinclair also delivered freshly made meals to the local 911 Response Center and donated face masks to regional respiratory therapists. We’d call that pretty tee-rific community support!

Pamela Jackson of the Holiday Inn Express Milledgeville

Bringing some sunshine to the Milledgeville community is Pamela Jackson, General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Milledgeville, who brought leadership and compassion to her staff during difficult days. After the pandemic forced the Holiday Inn Express to place 15+ members of their staff on unemployment, Pamela rallied around her co-workers to personally provide groceries for some of the team members most financially vulnerable. Her act of kindness inspired other locals in the community to also donate to the cause. Pamela, thanks for bringing good into our world!

Hampton Inn Milledgeville

Helping to amp up the sanitation game, Hampton Inn Milledgeville is sharing its industry resources to join the fight against COVID-19. Partnering with local medical office, Boddie Medical, LLC, and Howell Medical Supply, the Hampton Inn Milledgeville is contributing to “Operation Help” which provides drive-thru testing for the COVID-19 respiratory virus. Individuals being tested are given gift bags filled with masks, gloves and soap compliments of Howell Medical Supplies and the Hampton Inn. We’re inspired by seeing acts of service over self!
