Begin your weekend at Milledgeville’s First Friday in downtown, happening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This free community event features the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree on Hancock Street, where the community gathers to sing carols and soak in the holiday spirit. The big man himself, Santa Claus, will be at Exchange Bank to greet kids of all ages, hear their Christmas wishes, and pose for festive photos. Meanwhile, the not-so-nice Grinch will be stationed at the Milledgeville Visitor's Center, where kids can meet the mean one and take home a sweet treat. Alongside the downtown shops, booths will be set up offering kids' crafts and unique gifts, making it a magical evening for everyone.

Georgia College Department of Music 17th Annual Holiday Concert

Also on Friday, December 6th, Georgia College & State University is hosting its 17th Annual Holiday Concert at 7:30 p.m. in Russell Auditorium. This beloved tradition brings together the entire music department for an uplifting performance that captures the spirit of the season. Enjoy old favorites and new tunes performed by groups like the Wind Symphony, String Quartet, Flute Choir, Jazz Band, and University Chorus.

Lockerly Arboretum will welcome guests to walk through their annual Lockerly in Lights display throughout the evening on Saturday, December 7th. Guests can also enjoy festive treats like s’mores, popcorn, and more, adding to the holiday experience.
