ABOUT

ABOUT

In honor of Juneteenth, Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion will offer free Labor Behind the Veil tours on Friday, June 19, at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

This specialty tour shifts the focus from governors and grandeur to the enslaved and free individuals whose labor sustained the Mansion during its years as Georgia’s executive residence. Through a more in-depth look at the lives and work of those often left in the margins of the historic record, Labor Behind the Veil offers visitors a deeper understanding of antebellum life in Georgia.

No registration is required; spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
