ATLANTA, Ga. (June 26, 2018) – Southeast Tourism Society has named the Deep Roots Festival one of the STS Top 20 Events in the Southeast October 2019. 

This year’s Deep Roots Festival will be held on October 20th. The STS Top 20 Festival and Event Awards have highlighted programs around the  Southeast since 1985. Travel industry experts select 20 events per month, and STS publicizes them throughout the United States. The complete list is published on two websites: Southeast Tourism Society and Travel Media Press Room.

2018 will mark a memorable milestone as the events 15th year! Over the past 14 years the festival has grown the Kids Zone and Arts & Crafts, hosted nationally recognized artists and has even rebranded the festival. 

The cultural arts and music festival takes place on a full square block in historic downtown Milledgeville. The festival is home to a plethora of events throughout the day showcasing local, regional, and national talents, artists, and vendors. It beckons travelers from all over offering an antique car show displaying more than 100 classic cars and an artist market with more than 85 vendors featuring their hand-
made, hand-crafted items for sale. The KidZone has enough rides, inflatables and activities to keep kids entertained for hours. Live entertainment on the community stage features demonstrations, local gymnasts, dancers and musicians throughout the day and is a Deep Roots Favorite!

In spotlighting the Top 20 festivals and events each month, STS is not only giving these events the recognition they deserve but we’re also creating a quick reference guide to some of the best festivals in the Southeast,” said Bill Hardman, president and CEO of the Southeast Tourism Society. “These events are important to the economic vitality of our communities and this is a way for us to acknowledge the time and resources organizers have tirelessly spent to create memories for their attendees.” STS, founded in 1983 and headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting tourism to and within 12 states – Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
