MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - There is no surer sign of spring than Lockerly Arboretum’s Plant Sale. 

This year Lockerly’s Plant Sale will span three days, beginning on Thursday, April 21st, with the first-ever “Friends of Lockerly” Plant Sale exclusively for current members of the Arboretum. On Friday, April 22nd, and Saturday, April 23rd, the Plant Sale will open to the public. The sale will feature a variety of heirloom vegetables, herbs, annuals, perennials and shrubs. Vendors from around Middle Georgia will have booths set up with an array of garden tools, gardening supplies, handmade garden aprons and hats, yard art, and outdoor living accessories. On Saturday, April 23rd, Trey Owens will be on site selling bbq plates, and Sarah Mikkelson, a member of the Ampersand Guild in Macon, will be spinning yarn.

Students working in the Grassmann Ceramic Studio at GCSU will share their Art in Action project, Brew, on Thursday afternoon from 4:00-6:30 for Friends of Lockerly, and again on Saturday, April 23rd during this year’s Plant Sale. Students will be serving slow-brewed coffee and tea in handcrafted cups. A limited number of pieces designed and created for Lockerly will be available for purchase. The students are the first to ever be accepted in Fired Works, one of the Southeast’s most prestigious ceramics events, and Lockerly is proud to feature their work during their 2016 Plant Sale.

To become a Friend of Lockerly and attend the Friend of Lockerly Plant Sale on Thursday, April 21st from 1:00-6:30, visit and join online or print the membership form and mail it.
