ABOUT

Flooded with grand historic homes, Milledgeville’s iconic venue ‘Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion’ is nothing short of remarkable. Constructed from 1835 to 1839, the Mansion is a National Historic Landmark House Museum. Beginning in 2001, the Mansion underwent an extensive historic restoration, which returned the building to its c. 1850s appearance. As a house museum, the Mansion is not equipped to accommodate extensive use for receptions or other similar activities but serves as a stunning historical backdrop for receptions or ceremonies hosted on the lawn. Equipped with a white picket fence, beautiful gardens, and soaring trees, the lawn is a flawless place to host a romantic and elegant wedding day.
