Explore the exhibit "Fast Fading, a History of Central State Hospital" at the Georgia's Old Capital Heritage Center at the Depot. Only made possible through the efforts of local photographer, historian, and now museum curator, Jessica Whitehead. This is the first exhibit to open at the new location on the Central State Hospital campus, and Ms. Whitehead demonstrates a unique ability to combine history - the collection of pictures, artifacts, equipment, personal items, and client art - with place. The exhibit at The Depot is surrounded by the mostly deserted buildings of the once thriving center for treatment of mental health issues and developmental disabilities. From start to finish, this is a moving walk through CSH history. The exhibit is open Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
