Local artist Jeremiah Crockett will have a selection of work on display at the Marlor House from January 13th to February 8th, 2019. Crockett hopes the exhibit will inspire others to create art and shed a positive light on the message behind and expression of art.
An opening reception for the exhibit will take place on Sunday, January 13th, from 1PM to 3PM. The reception is free and open to the public; refreshments will be provided. Some of the artist’s artwork will be for sale and the Allied Arts gift shop will be open, as well.
Jeremiah Crockett credits his art abilities and talents as a special gift from God that allows him to demonstrate that any and all things are possible through Christ. Crockett is a self-taught artist and native of Wilkinson County, Georgia, educated in the Wilkinson County Public School System. He has maintained his ministering credentials thereafter from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Along with his passion and eye for art, Crockett enjoys ministering, mentoring, and helping all people from various backgrounds and walks of life. This passion led him to become the founder and pastor of Refuge Outreach Ministries, located in Irwinton, Georgia.
His art collections have been featured in the Capital in Atlanta Georgia, in local banks and churches, as well as in many other venues. His artwork won first place at the 2018 Oconee Artists Exhibition. Crockett hopes to one day open up his very own art school that will teach others and help them to demonstrate their art abilities and talents.
The gallery is open Monday - Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
