Milledgeville native Russell Warren is set to display his exhibit, Artwork by Russell Warren, at Allied Arts from July 15 – August 24, 2018. Warren, a prolific artist, has been painting and drawing his whole life and is excited to share his talent with the Milledgeville community.
The 7th of 10 children, Warren was influenced by his creative father, who he described as “a jack of all trades.” Warren is a veteran of the US Army and National Guard, and lived in Delaware for many years before returning to Milledgeville in 2006. While living in the north, Warren met and painted for many celebrities, including Michael Jackson. A portrait of the singer will be featured in the coming exhibit.
While his main focus is painting with acrylic or oil paints, Warren also enjoys ceramics and sculpting. The exhibit will include over 30 works by Warren, including portraits, landscapes, and still life. He has made painting his primary focus for 30 years, and this will be his first solo show in Milledgeville. Warren has displayed his works in galleries across the state, including exhibits in Atlanta and Macon.
The opening reception for this exhibit will be held on July 15, from 1:00 – 3:00 at the Marlor Arts Center. All are invited to attend and learn about the artist and his work. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, call (478) 452 – 3950, or visit www.MilledgevilleAlliedArts.com. The Marlor Arts Center is located at 201 N Wayne Street.
