Each year around Christmastime the smell of fresh cut Frasier’s and chestnuts on the fire fill our town. The Old Governor’s Mansion transforms into a beautiful representation of what Christmas looked like at the Mansion in the time period before the Civil War.
Every room is dressed with authentic period decorations, from streamers in the children’s room to poinsettias, holly branches and gorgeous ribbons in other bedrooms and parlors. Of course, it wouldn’t be an Antebellum Christmas without a tree, so the Old Governor’s Mansion has a tall and heavily decorated tree, that is not to be missed.
Tours beginning on Sunday, November 19, 2017 and run through December 22. The Mansion will be closed for Thanksgiving November 23-27. Candlelight tours are at 6 pm and 7 pm on December 9, 16, & 19, 2017. Normal admission rates apply
