ABOUT

ABOUT

The 5th Annual Lake Sinclair Poker Run takes to the water on Saturday, July 20, at 10:00 AM. Bring your boat, your spouse and kids, friends, and the dog because the 5th Annual Lake Sinclair Poker Run will be too much fun to miss! We love all boats—pontoons, fishing boats, jet skis, and performance craft.

What is a Poker Run? A Poker Run is a giant scavenger hunt to compete for cash prizes while enjoying a fun day on the lake. Players gather at Dennis Station in Putnam County beginning at 9:15 AM to get their maps and instructions. A short briefing with a representative of the Department of Natural Resources follows at 9:45 AM, after which the boats head out. Players follow maps and geo-coordinates to specified locations around the lake where they pick up a playing card sealed in an envelope. Registration is $75, that includes participation in the Poker Run with a cook-out on Goat Island catered by Aubri Lane’s and The Club at Sinclair, and a waterfront concert by Fall Line Rambler.

Players will return to Dennis Station between 2:15 and 2:45 PM with their sealed envelopes to reveal their hands. Veteran poker players will be on hand to advise, and each player may buy up to 2 additional playing cards to strengthen their hand. Five card poker rules apply, and the best hand will win a cash prize of $1000, with a second prize of $500. All proceeds support Georgia’s Old Capital Heritage Center at The Depot, Inc. and the renovation of the CSH train depot for a regional cultural center.

To play a hand, a participant must register for the event ($75 per player). Registration is available below. Onsite registration on July 20th is available but will not include lunch vouchers. Need more information? Call the Heritage Center Office at 478-453-1803 or 404-358-6570.
