Milledgeville - The Georgia Civil War Commission will host a FREE Civil War Symposium on Saturday, November 22, 2014 starting at 9 am at Georgia Military College Atrium. This is an effort to offer an educational venue for anyone interested in history, namely the Civil War in Georgia. Some of the numerous topics will be Black Confederates, Hospital Communities, a Walking Tour of the Civil War Old Capitol, Civil War in the Movies, and the Lost Papers of Gen. John Bell Hood. The speakers will come from various walks of life, including some who serve on the Georgia Civil War Commission. A person can attend just one presentation or all, depending on their preference.

Additionally, there will be a currency display inside the Atrium showing how money has evolved over the many years. A special part of the collection is Confederate Currency.
