The second day on the Antebellum Trail takes you to Milledgeville, the capital of Georgia during the Civil War.
Begin with a guided trolley tour of the historic district. Stops include Lockerly Hall, Old State Capital, St. Stephens Episcopal Church and the Stetson-Sanford House.
Then continue to downtown Milledgeville for lunch. Stop at the Old Governor's Mansion.
A short distance away is Georgia's Old Capital Museum, where the state legislature met and voted to secede from the Union.
The final stop is the family home of author Flannery O'Connor. A native of Savannah, Ms. O'Connor eventually moved back to Milledgeville to her family's farm, Andalusia. Walk through the house and around the entire farm complex.
